My grandmother taught me to fly fish in the Black Hills of South Dakota on my summer vacations. My father taught me the love of the outdoors fishing in northern Minnesota in my childhood. My highlight is to watch a person pick out a fly, tie it on and present it in a manner that the fish will rise to it. Through fly fishing I’ve had the pleasure to meet some truly amazing people in some incredible places.Nicky Mill
I’ve been a fly fishing guide in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2015. My father, Andy, moved to Aspen in 1960 and at a young age began fishing the Frying Pan and the Roaring Fork River, which is where I now guide. Growing up in South Florida, fishing has been in my DNA from day one. My father would take me bass fishing in the local golf course ponds after school almost everyday. On the weekends, we would take our skiff out and head down to Miami or the Keys to chase tarpon, permit, sharks, & barracuda on the flats.
Upon graduating from Lynn University with a business degree in 2016, I soon moved to NYC to work at a creative agency. A year later, I realized big, noisy cities were not for me and I needed to get back to the mountains where I now call home. In 2020, my father and I started a fishing/hunting podcast called “Mill House Podcast” that has gained a lot of traction in the past year. Throughout the years, I have fished in Alaska, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Belize, Bahamas, Australia, & New Zealand.

Originally from the seacoast area of New Hampshire, I moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2018. I am an avid outdoorsman — former rock climbing and mountaineering guide turned fisherman. While I enjoy all types of fishing, I take special interest in Euro nymphing and hiking out to alpine lakes to fish. When I’m not casting a rod, I’m out skiing or camping in the desert.

I was been born and raised here in Aspen, and I learned how to fly fish here in the valley at 6 years old. I have been on the river as much as possible ever since. I enjoying showing other people the fishing, rivers, and lakes that I love and watching them become as enthralled as I am.John Dietsch
I’ve been fly fishing in the valley since 1984. I have gained a reputation in the fly fishing industry as an award winning fly fishing author, TV producer/host, guide and film consultant for projects like A River Runs Through It and Netflix’s OZARK. I love getting all levels of fly fishers on the water to learn more about the river and the sport as well as where and how to catch the big one!
Pierce Klingbiel
Originally from Southwest Florida, I grew up running around backwater looking for largemouth, peacocks, juvenile tarpon, and snook. I came to Colorado for college but quickly fell in love with the mountains visited as a child. I found myself teaching golf and snowboarding. Fishing whenever I could. I bought a raft before Covid, and by the time the world shut down, I found my new passion.
I spend most of my days on the water. Whether that be guiding my clients, or my fellow guides and friends. I tie almost every fly I throw, and tie flies constantly. I have a love for people and a love for chasing fish on fly.
